The Arabian Peninsula is a body of land nearly surrounded by water. They have a desert climate. One desert in the south covers nearly 250,000 square miles. True fact! The Arabian Peninsula is a desert with small parts of land. The deserts of the Arabian Peninsula are vast and arid. Arid means dry. Bedouins are the people who lived in the Arabian Peninsula. Bedouins are nomads that travel within a specific area. They seek water and grazing lands for their herds. Bedouins organized in clans that provided security and support in the extreme desert climate. The Bedouins usually settled in oasises. Oasis is a part of a desert that had water, shade , and vegetation.

Bedouins who settled by a large oasis soon became a major trading center. Soon they built a town, and the whole place was bustling with excitement. The Arabians traded with, Egypt, Asia, Persia, India, and many other places. They also traded with nearby towns. To get to one town from another they had to travel in caravans. They had to travel in caravans because they would a times get ambushed and robbed.
